Module 1. Family support Assistance to the families and managing the personal relationships of the missing people

Introduction

The disappearance of a loved one is an unexpected and unanticipated situation where no one is prepared, much less prepared to face the situation. Therefore, it is natural that the feeling of security that until now you had as a family may be lost.

The problem of missing persons worldwide encompasses an important cause of emotional and health stress for millions of people who suffer the terrible uncertainty of not knowing the whereabouts of their missing loved one.

In this first modular content we will learn to know the classification with which security forces and bodies catalog the disappearance of a person.

We will be aware of the rights that family members have with a missing loved one.

First contact with the families, to help in the first moments and just after they report the disappearance, so we will face the START For these reasons and others, it is important to provide direct help and support to families from the beginning, promoting resilience and being prepared to respond clearly to situations in which, as family liaison and experts in the investigation of people and missing children, we will be involved.

Learning Outcomes

In this module we will be able to:

Know the beginning and act in the first moments of a disappearance.

The complaint and how to correctly formulate it and the necessary requirements and data.

In this first modular content, we will learn to know the classification with which security forces and bodies catalog the disappearance of a person, as well as the typology of the complaint.

We will be aware of the rights that family members have with a missing loved one.

First contact with the families, to help in the first moments and just after they report the disappearance, so we will face the START.

We will know how to recognize the family environment.

Duration

The duration of this first module is two hours and fifty minutes.

Requirements

For this module, prior knowledge of legislation regarding missing persons is required, as well as police legal knowledge in the event of a disappearance.

Knowledge of search protocols for missing persons is recommended.

Module recommended for members of the security forces, private investigators, as well as members of the emergency and civil protection services, associations that work in the search for missing people in all operational areas.
