LOST2 Final Partner Meeting and Conference Held in Brussels

As the LOST2 project approaches its completion, partners gathered for the final time in Brussels on May 20–21, 2025, to reflect on the results of a 30-month journey dedicated to supporting those working in the field of missing persons.
The Final Transnational Partner Meeting, hosted by EfVET, was a chance for all partner organizations to share progress on the project’s final deliverables, evaluate results, and coordinate the remaining steps before closure. The agenda included presentations on the second pilot phase of the training course, discussion of the national multiplier events, and the final updates on the LOST2 online training platform, developed by p-consulting.gr as an open and freely accessible educational resource.
The meeting concluded with warmth and a shared sense of accomplishment, marking not only the end of a successful collaboration but also the beginning of broader dissemination and real-world application of the project’s outcomes.
On May 21st, the LOST2 team welcomed participants to the Final Conference at the Umbria Region Office in Brussels under the title: “Bridging Gaps, Saving Lives: Strengthening Search and Rescue Across Europe.”
The event featured speakers from key European organizations working with vulnerable populations and missing children, including Missing Children Europe, Child Focus Belgium, and Don Bosco International, among others. Insights were shared on national practices, current challenges, and the critical role of cross-border cooperation.
Key elements of the conference included:
- Presentation of the LOST2 European Curriculum for professionals.
- Real-case perspectives from Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, and Spain.
- Demonstration of the LOST2 training platform as a tool for upskilling search and rescue professionals across Europe.
The conference closed with a call for continued collaboration and the need for a more unified European framework in addressing missing person cases.
As LOST2 nears its official end, the sense of shared purpose and the strong partnerships built throughout the project will remain a lasting legacy.
