Project Meeting in Athens: Advancing the Training Program for Missing People and Minors Experts
On October 3-4, 2024, the partners of the LOST2 project gathered in Athens, Greece, for a critical transnational meeting hosted by The Smile of the Child, one of the Greek partners in the consortium. This meeting marked a pivotal moment for the project, as the consortium finalized the development of the online training platform for the qualification of “Expert in the Research of Missing People and Minors” on a pan-European level.
The first day of the meeting began with a tour of The Smile of the Child’s Panhellenic Operational Center, providing an overview of their essential work in the area of missing children. Following the introductions, key presentations took place, focusing on the pilot training sessions conducted in Italy, and Greece. These sessions have been instrumental in testing the initial training modules, and the results were assessed by ARLAB, the project’s partner responsible for evaluation.
The core focus of the meeting was the presentation and discussion of the LOST2 online training platform, which was led by the partner p-consulting.gr. The partners reviewed the current state of the platform and discussed how to further enhance the digital content. Input from all partners was gathered to ensure the highest quality of the training materials.
Another important topic covered during the meeting was project management, with discussions led by ARLAB and EUROMASC, focusing on future milestones, deadlines, and the overall schedule for the remaining project activities. In addition, the project’s communication, dissemination, and exploitation strategies were reviewed, ensuring that the project’s results will have a long-lasting impact across Europe.
Day two of the meeting was dedicated to further refining the training modules, focusing on how to optimize the platform’s structure and user experience. Partners also discussed next steps for the testing phase of the platform in all participating countries.
The meeting concluded on a high note, with all partners aligned on the future goals of the project and enthusiastic about the upcoming steps. As the project moves forward, the LOST2 consortium remains committed to developing an innovative, comprehensive training program that will benefit professionals across Europe involved in the search for missing persons.
